Back for another round, the Chun Wo Innovative Student Award (CWISA) 2024 is on a mission to ignite the innovative spirit of future engineers. This year, we're engaging young visionaries through the theme "Engineers Overcoming the World's Challenges." Embodying innovation and creativity, we encourage these bright minds to ride the crest of the innovation wave, exploring cutting-edge technologies like AI, robotics, and AR/VR to craft solutions that forge an improved future for individuals, communities, and our planet. CWISA 2024 is not just a competition—it's a platform for each team to convert their unique engineering solutions into reality.
Launched by Chun Wo Development Holdings Limited in 2018, the biannual Chun Wo Innovative Student Award is an exciting platform for budding engineers. With a key focus on sustainability—which fuels both our economy and safeguards our planet—these innovators are the frontrunners in creating a sustainable future. CWISA is more than just a competition; it's a launchpad for groundbreaking ideas, a chance for young visionary minds to turn innovative theories into tangible, world-shaping solutions.
Engineers Overcoming The World’s Challenge
Engineers are at the forefront of the innovation wave, with emerging technologies such as AI, robotics, and AR/VR providing engineers with unprecedented opportunities to apply them to real-world solutions for climate action, sustainable construction, and innovative architecture. With the aim of encouraging and inspiring the next generation of engineers to embrace innovation boldly, the theme of this year's Chun Wo Student Innovation Awards (“CWISA”) is "Engineers Overcoming the World's Challenges". CWISA encourages each participating team to propose their own engineering solution, embracing emerging technologies such as AI, robotics, and AR/VR, to create innovative solutions that relate to the following sub-themes. The winning team will have the opportunity to receive funding to nurture their innovative idea and put it into practice.
Develop engineering solutions to address climate change and strive towards carbon neutrality. This includes initiatives such as green buildings, renewable energy, and energy efficiency to shape a more innovative and sustainable future.
Research and design sustainable urban and community solutions, encompassing smart mobility, intelligent transportation systems, environment planning and more, utilises advanced digital technologies to significantly enhance the functioning of cities and improve the quality of life for residents.
Design the new concepts or engineering solutions in the field of architecture and infrastructure to provide more innovative, sustainable, and efficient buildings and infrastructure. This includes approaches like Modular Integrated Construction, Internet of Things (IoT), and digitised equipment such as data centres.
